This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit this website. We’ve written it in plain English wherever the law allows, and added a quick summary at the top so you don’t have to read the whole thing to know what happens to your information.

We don’t collect cryptocurrency wallet details, betting account information, or financial transaction data. We don’t operate any gambling platforms — we’re a review site — so the data we hold is limited to what’s needed to run a publication.
We don’t sell your data. We never have, and we never will.
For any data protection enquiry, including requests to exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected]
What Data We Collect
We collect data in three ways: information you give us, information collected automatically when you use the site, and limited information from third parties.
Information you give us directly
- Your email address and message if you contact us through the contact form or by email
- Your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter
- Any comments you submit on our reviews, if commenting is enabled
Information collected automatically
- IP address (anonymised before storage where technically possible)
- Browser type and version, device type, operating system
- Pages you visit and the order in which you visit them
- Referring URL (the page that brought you to us)
- Date and time of visit
- Cookie data (see Cookies section below)
Information from third parties
Affiliate networks may share aggregated, non-identifying data about whether a click on our site converted into a registration on an operator’s platform.
This is used to calculate commission and refine our recommendations.
We do not receive your identity, your betting activity, or any financial information from these networks.
Why We Collect It and Our Lawful Basis
Under UK GDPR, we need a lawful basis for every purpose we process your data for. Here’s the mapping:
|
Purpose |
Lawful Basis |
| Responding to your enquiry |
Legitimate interest (running our publication) |
|
Sending the newsletter you subscribed to |
Consent |
| Analytics and improving content |
Consent (non-essential cookies) |
|
Security, fraud prevention, server logs |
Legitimate interest |
| Affiliate click attribution |
Consent (affiliate cookies) |
|
Complying with legal obligations |
Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have weighed our interest against your privacy rights and concluded the processing is proportionate. A copy of our Legitimate Interests Assessment is available on request. You have the right to object — see “Your Rights” below.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Cookies and Tracking
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies for site functionality, analytics, and affiliate attribution.
When you first visit, you’ll see a cookie banner. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or set preferences. Strictly necessary cookies don’t require consent under PECR; everything else does.
Categories of cookies we use:
- Strictly necessary — make the site work; cannot be disabled
- Analytics — measure how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
- Affiliate attribution — record that you clicked through to an operator from our site, so we are credited if you sign up. Typically set by the operator or their affiliate network, not by us directly
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page.
Affiliate Links & How They Work
Most external links on this site to gambling operators are affiliate links. When you click one, an affiliate cookie may be set (subject to your consent) that records the click. If you then register and play at the operator’s site, we may receive a commission.
The question most readers want answered: what does the operator know about you from clicking our link?
The answer is: whatever you tell them when you sign up, and nothing more. We do not pass your identity, browsing history, email address, or any analytics data to operators or affiliate networks. The only thing shared is a tracking identifier showing the click originated here.
If you don’t want any affiliate cookies set, decline them in the cookie banner. You can still browse every page on the site; you just won’t be tracked across the click.
Once you leave our site for an operator’s site, you’re subject to their privacy policy and terms, not ours.
Who We Share Your Data With
We share personal data with two categories of third party:
Data processors (acting on our instructions under written contracts that meet UK GDPR requirements):
Affiliate networks and the gambling operators they represent, when you click an affiliate link with consent. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
We will also disclose data where legally required (court order, regulatory request) or where necessary to protect our rights, our users, or third parties.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers for behavioural targeting outside the affiliate context described above.
International Transfers
Some of the processors above are based outside the UK, primarily in the United States. When your data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on one of the following safeguards:
- The UK Government’s adequacy decision for the destination country
- The UK-US Data Bridge (for transfers to certified US organisations)
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Government, plus supplementary measures where required
You can request the specific safeguards in place for any particular transfer by emailing [email protected].
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it. Specific retention periods:
- Contact form / email correspondence: 24 months from the last interaction
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days on our suppression list to prevent accidental re-subscription
- Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics standard retention)
- Server logs: 30 days, then deleted or anonymised
- Comments on reviews (if enabled): for as long as the review is published; deleted on request
- Cookies: vary by type
After these periods, data is deleted or fully anonymised so it can no longer be linked to you.
Security
We protect your data using:
- TLS encryption (HTTPS) across the entire site
- Access controls limiting staff access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
- Reputable hosting and email providers with their own security accreditations
- Regular software updates and security patching
No system is completely impenetrable. In the event of a personal data breach that risks your rights or freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, and notify you directly where required by law.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the “right to be forgotten”)
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format, or have it transferred to another controller
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest, or to direct marketing at any time
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time
- Not be subject to automated decision-making with legal effects. That means we don’t carry out any such decision-making, but the right applies regardless
- Complain to the ICO — see Complaints below
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may ask you to verify your identity to prevent unauthorised disclosure. We’ll respond within one calendar month. There’s no charge unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we’ll explain why and what (if anything) we’ll charge.
Children
This site is intended for users aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected data on a minor, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged with a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal data, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to put things right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
- Post: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
Contacting us first doesn’t affect your right to complain to the ICO at any time.
